Rather than sell a car to an individual or single family, why do the car sales outlets not create a scheme to group people into car pool/share schemes. Maybe they could couple with car park entities to agree pick-up/drop-off locations for share-purchased cars so that local people can have shared and occasional access to a car.

Multiple groups in the same location can potentiall cross-share the pool of cars with each other to provide a more flexible use booking system.

This idea will save people money who do not need a car for the majority of the time (most people!), increase the potential for car sales (economy improving) and make much more efficient use of the very eco-expensive resources that a car is constructed from.

Any thoughts on how a scheme of this might be structured?
