Money drives our World, I'm not saying that is bad but has it really evolved as far as it can?

What is money ? As I understand it it starts with the perception of worth, I think that most money relys on people believing that Gold is worth having.

Promises to give you some Gold are then written on bits of paper to make it more portable.

Because the belief that the Gold is securely under lock and key, much more promise to pay bits of paper are created than actual Gold available (lets hope that there is not a run on the Gold reserves or we might find them running out pretty quickly!)

The belief that the Gold is worth having has been transferred to the bits of paper. which means that they can be swapped for almost all goods to secure health, wealth and wellbeing.

All good! [as long as you have some!]

Is there anything else that could be used instead of Gold to underpin a trading system - rather than having it based upon accumulation for personal gain over others, could we have a system that valued contribution i.e. a giving rather than taking system?
